3 kids hurt in Zamboanga blast
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Three children were wounded when an improvised bomb exploded in a village west of this city yesterday.
Myka Padayao, 9; her 6-year-old-brother Tirdy; and Jayson Nalzaro, 8, were walking on their way to school around 6:40 a.m. when the explosion occurred. They were brought to a clinic in Barangay Ayala for treatment.
Senior Inspector Karib Muharram, Station 10 commander, said the blast occurred a few meters away from the house of barangay chairman Diosterides Librero.
Superintendent Felix Martinez, chief of the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Management, said nobody was seen hurling the explosive, adding that no bomb fragment was recovered at the scene.
An investigation is underway.
