John Unson - The Philippine Star

SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines - Lawmen on Friday arrested six members of a drug ring distributing shabu in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

The suspects, Rakiben Talib Camsa, Joven Talib Camsa, Joharis Mangudalat, Harid Mangudalat, Jomar Abedin Ubpon and Saiden Abedin Bahasuan, voluntarily turned themselves in when they sensed that policemen have surrounded their hideout in Barangay Bentong Sulit.

Local officials said the arrested drug traffickers also distributed shabu in isolated areas in nearby South Cotabato towns.

The raid that resulted to their arrest was carried out with the help of barangay officials.

The raiding team recovered from the suspects’ lair a live fragmentation grenade, a handgun, shabu in sealed sachets and drug sniffing paraphernalia.

Catholic station dxOM in South Cotabato’s provincial capital, Koronadal City, reported on Saturday that the policemen who arrested the six suspects were armed with a warrant issued by Judge Oscar Noel Jr. of the Polomolok municipal court.

Investigators assured to charge the suspects with violation of the Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act on Monday.
