P2.5-M marijuana plants torched in Benguet

BAKUN, Benguet, Philippines- At least P2.5 million worth of marijuana plants went up in smoke in Benguet on Thursday.

Bakun town policemen led by Senior Inspector Thrislyn Sagpa-ey uprooted some 11,950 fully grown marijuana plants and 5,000 seedlings at a 2,060 square meter plantation in Bakun town, said Cordillera police spokesman Superintendent Cherry Fajardo. – Artemio Dumlao, Raymund Catindig
