Celso Amo, Cecille Suerte Felipe - The Philippine Star

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Suspected communist rebels burned a trailer truck owned by a construction firm in Barangay Bugar in Bagamanoc town in Catanduanes over the weekend.

Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesman, said the truck (WT 8930) driven by Floredel Alforque was traveling to Barangay Hinipaan when it developed engine trouble near a bridge in Sitio Sumingit.

When Alforque left the vehicle at 4:30 p.m., a group of New People’s Army rebels set the vehicle on fire.

Fernando Caburao, manager of the construction firm, placed the damage at P25 million.
