College student dies from apparent suicide
NORTH COTABATO, Philippines – A distraught 19-year-old college student died from an apparent suicide on Sunday in Kabacan, North Cotabato.
The lifeless body of April Rose Jimenez, a graduating student of the University of Southern Mindanao, was found hanging in their house by her parents at about noontime Sunday.
Police probers said Jimenez was left all alone by her parents in their house in a farming district in Carmen town in North Cotabato, who went out for an early Sunday church service.
Relatives said Jimenez was restive and distraught days before she committed suicide.
Responding barangay officials and community watchmen found a mobile phone at the scene with a video recording of Jimenez telling her parents goodbye while putting on a lashed rope on her neck.
