NBI asked to probe dancer’s slay
MANILA, Philippines - The family of the slain dancer Marcelo “Ozu” Ong yesterday sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in resolving the case.
Ong’s sister Mary Jane expressed belief that the NBI could determine the motive for the killing of her brother.
Mary Jane did not believe that carjacking was behind the killing, noting her brother pulled over his Toyota Hi-Lux (AAO 2722) at the gate of Primrose Hills Subdivision in Angono, Rizal, where he was living.
She believes her brother knows the gunman.
Rizal police director Senior Superintendent Bernabe Balba welcomed the NBI in the probe of Ong’s case.
Balba said the more agencies involved in the probe, the faster the solution of the case.
Ong, a member of the male dance group Masculados Dos, had just alighted fromhis vehicle when he was shot at past 1 a.m. Sunday.
The gunman escaped in the victim’s vehicle.
Ong’s remains lie in state at the Christ Parish Church along Manuel L. Quezon Ave. in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City.
