Dancer shot dead in carjacking
MANILA, Philippines - A member of the male dance group Masculados Dos was shot dead in what was believed to be a carjacking in Angono, Rizal yesterday.
Marcelo “Ozu” Ong, 30, died while being treated for a gunshot to the chest at the Antipolo City Doctor’s Hospital, Rizal police director Senior Superintendent Bernabe Balba said.
Balba said Ong was driving his Toyota Hi-Lux pickup (AAO 2722) when he pulled over at the Primerose Subdivision in Barangay Mahabang Parang at past 3 a.m.
Reports said the victim had just stepped down from the vehicle when a man approached and shot him.
Witnesses said the suspect escaped in Ong’s vehicle.
Bystanders rushed the victim to the hospital.
Police have yet to gather leads on the incident.
Balba ordered his men to conduct a background check on Ong to determine the motive for the killing.
