Magnitude 5.6 quake hits Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Zamboanga peninsula yesterday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Allan Rommel Labayog, Phivolcs regional field officer, said the earthquake occurred at 2:51 a.m. south of Zamboanga peninsula.
Labayog said the epicenter of the quake was 570 kilometers below the sea.
