5 dead in Cagayan, Isabela road mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – Five people died and four others were injured in three separate road accidents in Cagayan and Isabela on Wednesday.

Winston Guevara, 30; Madz Tolentino, 33; and driver Mark Gacias, 27, died at the scene when their car hit an Isuzu trailer truck loaded with sacks of rice in Barangay Maddarulog in Solana, Cagayan.

Solana police said Guevara was decapitated due to the impact of the collision.

In Buguey town, 12-year-old Xayexie dela Cruz died when his motorcycle crashed into a parked truck in Barangay Villa Gracia.

In Cordon, Isabela, Joel Villamor, 33, died when their truck fell into a ravine in Barangay Caquilingan.

Chief Inspector Ronnie Naira, Cordon police chief, said driver Carmelo Gabonada, 42; Eddie dela Cruz, 52; Albert Bitagon, 32; and Jomar Salandron, 27; all residents of Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, were wounded.
