PNR train resumes Tutuban-Alabang trips

Dennis Carcamo - Philstar.com
MANILA, Philippines - After the derailment of one of its trains last April, the Philippine National Railways (PNR) resumed operations on Thursday, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) said.

The DOTC, however, said only the commuter service from Tutuban-Alabang will run in the meantime as works are still being implemented in other sections of the PNR tracks.

It said that rail safety concerns identified by third-party consultant TUV Rheinland have been satisfactorily addressed.

A PNR train, composed of three coaches, was derailed last April while speeding along the tracks in Magallanes, injuring at least 50 passengers.
