Soldier, wife nabbed in drug sting

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato, Philippines – An Army soldier and his wife were arrested in a recent drug sting here.

Cpl. Mirol Makbirol, 46, of the 38th Infantry Battalion based in Talipao, Sulu, and Janice Mauricio, 44, a resident of Gayunga, Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of P16,000, Superintendent Reynante delos Santos, Midsayap police chief, said.

The couple was charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
