2 dead, 4 missing as boat capsizes off Negros

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines  – Two fishermen drowned and four others were reported missing when their motorboat capsized off  Cauayan, Negros Occidental Monday night.

The victims were crewmembers of Ana Grace fishing vessel who went fishing at Hulao-Hulao Reef, Senior Inspector Lowell Garinganao, Cauayan police chief, said yesterday.

The body of Maximo Entong, 41 washed ashore in Barangay Caliling on Tuesday while the body of Cecilio Amparado, 57, which was trapped in the boat, was recovered at Hulao-Hulao Reef on Wednesday. 

Garinganao said they would seek the help of Navy divers to scour Hulao-Hulao Reef to find the missing fishermen.

In Catanduanes, three fishermen were reported missing when their motorboat capsized after hitting a rock off Garchitorena town on Wednesday.

Caramoan police and Coast Guard personnel are conducting search and rescue operations.
