MANILA, Philippines - A motorcyclist was slightly hurt after a black Toyota Fortuner sports utility vehicle driven by actor Vandolph Quizon lost control and sideswiped his motorcycle along the Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Parañaque City, Thursday morning.
Initial investigations by the Paranaque City police showed that Quizon was driving his Fortuner along the northbound lane of Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Barangay Sto. Niño going to Pasay City at about 8:30 a.m. when one of the van’s rear wheel exploded.
Police said the blowout caused the SUV to swerve towards the opposite lane and hit the concrete boundary post marker.
Police said a Toyota Hi-Lux truck was being driven by Leonardo Tapino on the opposite lane and saw Quizon’s oncoming SUV.
According to the police, Tapino tried to evade the SUV but instead hit the Yamaha Sniper motorcycle ridden by Michael Periera. Police said that as a result, Periera was slightly injured.
Police said Quizon emerged from the SUV unharmed while Periera was rushed to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment. The Parañaque Traffic Police is still investigating the incident.
