Quake rocks Southern Luzon

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-4.2 earthquake shook parts of Southern Luzon shortly after noon yesterday, but no injury or damage to property was reported.

The tremor, which occurred at 12:09 p.m. was located 21 kilometers southwest of Polangui in Albay, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake was felt in Albay, Camarines and Quezon provinces.

It was felt at Intensity 3 in the cities of Naga and Iriga, both in Camarines Sur; Intensity 2 in Camalig, Albay and Daet, Camarines Norte, and Intensity 1 in Legazpi City; Oas, Albay, and Mulanay in Quezon.

No aftershock was expected from the quake.
