Woman found dead at Iloilo pension house

ILOILO CITY, Philippines  – A woman believed to be in her 60s was found dead at a pension house in Iloilo City Sunday night.

The woman, initially identified as Maria Fe based on the pension house’s logbook, was naked and bloodied when she was found at around 6 p.m. at the Eros Pension House and Ladies Dormitory located on Gen. Luna street.

But based on the control number of a senior citizen’s card she dictated to the pension house’s staff, the woman’s name could be Myra Pe.

Roomboy King Espada told investigators he decided to knock on Room 104 when the woman failed to pay her bill for the second day of her stay.

The victim’s hands were tied with a belt and her head was wrapped in her shirt and pants, Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, spokesman for the city police, said.

The victim’s bag was found beside her, but it contained no identification card.

Footage taken by surveillance cameras installed at the establishment showed the woman checked in at 11:01 a.m. on Saturday.

A man wearing a white shirt, cargo shorts and a bull cap was seen entering the same room at 1:36 p.m. of the same day.

Police have yet to review the entire footage to determine how the man left the pension house.
