CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union, Philippines – Senior Superintendent Angelito Dumangeng, former chief of the regional operations and plans division of the Police Regional Office 1, has assumed his post as the director of the La Union police force.
Dumangeng, the first Philippine National Police Academy graduate to assume the position, replaced Senior Superintendent Ramon Rafael who was transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Group at Camp Crame.
Rafael, a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1986, served as La Union police director from Jan. 7, 2013 to March 6 this year.
Dumangeng, a native of Ifugao, was former deputy director for administration of the La Union police and chief of the Bangar town police station.
The turnover ceremony, which was held last week, was witnessed by provincial officials led by Gov. Manuel Ortega.
