2 soldiers killed in ambush

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Two Army soldiers were killed in an attack by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas in Lapaz, Agusan del Sur Friday.

Privates First Class Rene Lasaga and Victor Aron Milan were killed in an ambush in Barangay San Patricio, said Lt. Col. Rolando Dumawa, chief of  the Army’s 26th Infantry Battalion.

The soldiers were on a motorcycle on their way to pick up their ration when they were attacked by at least 30 rebels.
