CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Five police chiefs of Cavite have been relieved from their posts, allegedly for lack of qualifications, a police official said yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Jonnel Estomo, Cavite police director, said the relief of the five police officials was part of a realignment process being implemented by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Relieved were Chief Inspectors Sancho Celedio of Cavite City, Bryan Merino of Kawit, Juan Oruga of Indang and Gil Torralba of Silang, and Superintendent Dominic Bedia of Tanza.

They were replaced by Superintendents Egbert Tibayan, for Cavite City and Sandro Jay Tafalla (Silang), and Chief Inspectors Sancho Celedio (Indang), Joseph Laygo (Kawit) and Jose Rico Lanoria (Tanza).
