P26.8-B revenue eyed for Central Luzon this year
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) office in Central Luzon is eyeing to collect P26.8-billion revenues from six of seven provinces in the region this year.
“That goal is spread out among our 10 revenue district offices (RDOs) in Tarlac City and Paniqui town in Tarlac; Olongapo City; Subic Bay Freeport; Bataan; Pampanga; Aurora and Nueva Ecija. The Pampanga RDO is expected to deliver half of that target,” said BIR regional director Condrado Lee said during the launch of a regional tax campaign yesterday.
Lee is optimistic that the target would be achieved by intensifying the Oplan Kandado, regionalizing the Run After Tax Evaders program, and promoting the eFiling and Payment System (eFPS) and eForms Registration.
Last year, the BIR regional office was able to meet its P20.78-billion target. It attributed its success to a centralized management team that closely monitors delinquent taxpayers and opening of e-lounges where clients can use the eFPS and eForms Registration system.
Lee urged residents to file their income tax returns early and correctly.
He said the “Angat Pa, Pinas” campaign program is part of the revenue administration reform project implemented by the bureau with the support of the Millennium Challenge Corp. and the Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines.
