LIST: Closed roads, alternate routes for February 25

MANILA, Philippines —  The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority  on (MMDA) Tuesday announced several roads in the capital will be closed to motorists on Wednesday in observance of the anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino advised the public to avoid EDSA, the main venue of the festivities, especially the area around the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, in Quezon City starting midnight of February 25.

A total of 1,104 MMDA traffic and clearing operations personnel will be on hand to facilitate the flow of traffic along EDSA and guide motorists traversing the alternate routes, Tolentino said.

Closed roads starting 12 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shaw Boulevard to Santolan  and all perpendicular roads from the east side:

  • Internal Avenue
  • Garden Way
  • Julia Vargas
  • Bank Drive
  • Guadix
  • Poveda
  • Ortigas Avenue
  • Corinthian Subdivision Gate 2
  • White Plains
  • Santolan

Ortigas Avenue

  • Meralco - Ortigas Junction (southbound)
  • Ortigas - Connecticut (northbound)

White Plains

  • White Plains - Katipunan (southbound)

 

Alternate routes

From EDSA Northbound

  1. Right to McKinley Rd. to C5 to destination
  2. Right at Kalayaan Ave. to C5 to destination
  3. Take Rockwell flyover, left turn to Estrella and utilize Estrella/Pantaleon Bridge which is now open to traffic.
  4. Right at J.P. Rizal to C5 to destination
  5. Right at Pioneer St. to C5 to destination
  6. Right at Shaw Blvd. to C5 to destination
  7. Right at Julia Vargas Avenue to C5 to destination

From EDSA Southbound

  • Right to Santolan, left turn to Ortigas Ave. right turn to Wilson, left at P. Guevarra and Shaw Blvd., right turn to EDSA to point of destination.
