Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Workers in the Caraga Region received a P10 wage hike and will get another increase in their daily take-home pay, the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) reported yesterday.

The NWPC said the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board approved a new wage order granting an increase in the basic pay and in the cost of living allowance (COLA) for minimum wage earners.

The Caraga Region is composed of the provinces of Agusan del Norte and del Sur, Surigao del Norte and del Sur, Dinagat Island, and the cities of Butuan, Surigao, Bislig, Cabadbaran, Bayugan and Tandag.

“The wage increase were to be given in three tranches, with the first P10 hike in COLA and P10 in basic pay effective on Feb. 14,” the NWPC said.
