Negros farmers receive land titles

MANILA, Philippines - Sixteen farmer-beneficiaries of a government land reform program were given land titles by the  Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in a recent ceremony in Tanjay City in Negros Oriental.

At least 20.65 hectares of land in Barangay Novallas were divided among the beneficiaries, said Felipe Gaviola, municipal agrarian reform program officer.

Gaviola said the farmers received certificates of land ownership award.

The beneficiaries were advised to make their farms productive, as the government would provide them support services.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Gov. Mark Edward Macias and other local government officials.
