Napolcom promotes undercover cop in Subic’s P2-M drug bust
MANILA, Philippines - An undercover agent who provided the information that led to the confiscation of P2 billion worth of shabu in a drug raid in Subic, Zambales on Aug. 11, 2013 has been promoted.
Police Officer 3 Alexander delos Reyes of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) was promoted to the next rank upon the recommendation of the PNP Special Promotion, Awards and Decorations Board, National Police Commission vice chairman and executive officer Eduardo Escueta said on Thursday.
“He was able to gain the trust of Taiwanese drug lord Robert Chin who hired him as a helper,” Escueta said.
Delos Reyes said he witnessed the suspects stuffing red and maroon foil packs in balikbayan boxes, which he confirmed to be shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride.
He informed other AIDSOTF operatives of the activities of the suspects, resulting in the arrest of Chin’s group and the confiscation of 433.325 kilos of shabu.
