JBC starts selection process for 56 new judges

MANILA, Philippines - The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has started the selection process for 56 new judges to fill the vacancies in various courts nationwide.

In an announcement published in The STAR yesterday, the seven-member body tasked to vet nominees to judicial posts said the deadline for the submission of nominations is on March 11.

The vacancies are in the municipal circuit trial courts, regional trial courts and municipal trial courts in Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quezon, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Surigao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat and shari’a district courts in Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Zamboanga del Norte.
