Village exec hangs self
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A village councilman reportedly hanged himself in Pinili, Ilocos Norte Monday.
Wilfredo Fagaragan, 51, was found hanging from a tree in a forested area in Barangay Tartarabang, said Senior Inspector Artemio Clemente, town police chief.
Clemente said Fagaragan had been suffering from a lingering illness and this could be the reason why he took his life.
Meanwhile, in Bacolod City, a 34-year-old man hanged himself at a pension house Sunday.
Jun Oro was found hanging in the bathroom of Room 104 of Pleasant Travelers Pension House at around 7:20 p.m., said case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Dante Escorpion.
Oro reportedly used a shower hose to kill himself.
Text messages from Oro’s mobile phone showed he and his wife were having a quarrel. – Raymund Catindig, Danny Dangcalan
