NPA leader falls
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – An alleged leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) has been arrested in Bacolod City, police reported Sunday.
Miguel Omayao, who had a P550,000 bounty for his capture, was collared by police officers from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR), Regional Intelligence Unit 6 and city police late last week.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by Misamis Occidental Judge Bernadette Paredes-Encina for multiple murder, frustrated murder and damage to property, said Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin, spokesperson for the CIDG-NCR.
Jasmin said Omayao was a former liaison officer of the NPA’s West Central Mindanao Front.
