Non-working holiday in Bulacan

Ramon Efren Lazaro - The Philippine Star

MALOLOS, Philippines – Today is a non-working holiday in Bulacan, marking the 88th birth anniversary of former statesman Blas Ople.

The holiday was based on Proclamation 948 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., declaring Feb. 3 as a special non-working day in the province.

Ople served as foreign affairs secretary, Senate president and labor chief.

Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado will lead Bulakenyos in a ceremony that will be highlighted by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the “Bulacan Laban sa Human Trafficking Movement” at the Gusaling Gat Blas Ople here.

The MOU was made possible through the efforts of the Blas F. Ople Policy Center and Training Institute.
