Bet collector shot dead

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Philippines – A bet collector for a small town lottery outlet was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Barangay Gulang-Gulang here Sunday.

Joey Evangelista, 47, was declared dead on arrival at the Quezon Medical Center due to two gunshot wounds in the body, said Superintendent Allen Rae Co, city police chief.

Reports said the victim was standing in front of a sari-sari store when he was killed.

The assailant fled on a motorcycle driven by another man.
