MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-5.1 earthquake rocked parts of the Visayas and Mindanao yesterday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake occurred at 3:09 p.m., with its epicenter located some 18 kilometers northwest of Sipalay town in Negros Occidental.
The tremor was felt at Intensity 5 in Hinobaan and Sipalay, both in Negros Occidental; Intensity 4 in Iloilo City and in Tayasan, Sta. Catalina, Bayawan City, Siaton and Basa, all in Negros Oriental; Intensity 3 in Tobias Fornier in Antique and Ayungon in Negros Oriental, and Intensity 1 in Dipolog City, Calamba in Misamis Occidental, Dumaguete City, Jordan in Guimaras and Cebu City.?
