Davao mayor dies of heart attack

DAVAO CITY , Philippines – Mayor Jose Silvosa Sr. of Panabo City, Davao del Norte died of heart attack Monday afternoon. 

City Administrator Ramon Sawan said the 74-year-old Silvosa was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center in this city Monday morning after experiencing difficulty in breathing.

Salvosa died at around 3:30 p.m. the same day. His remains will be taken to Panabo’s new city hall on Friday.

“A mass will be held at the city hall on Sunday before the mayor will be taken to their house,” Sawan said.

Silvosa will be buried at the Panabo Eternal Garden.

Vice Mayor James Gamao took over as mayor.
