P66.2-M marijuana torched

Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Some P66.2 million worth of marijuana had been destroyed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police during a three-day operation in Benguet.

Dubbed “Oplan Dalipey,” the operation was conducted from Jan. 8 to 10, said PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr.

The operation also resulted in the discovery of a facility in Kibungan for drying marijuana leaves and forming them into bricks.

Cacdac said the raiding team burned marijuana stalks, bricks, plants, leaves, seeds and seedlings.

Also destroyed by the operatives were three jacks, two weighing scales, and several wooden molders found at the facility.
