Village watchman wanted for slay

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A village watchman is being hunted by authorities for allegedly killing a barangay official in San Pablo town, Isabela last Friday.

Alberto Marcelino reportedly shot and killed village councilman Ronald Bernaga, 35, of Barangay Dalena, after the victim reportedly poked a gun at his friend, said town police chief Senior Inspector Alford Accad.

Reports said Bernaga poked a gun at Reggie Tirabu, the suspect’s drinking buddy, after the latter refused to help him transport lumber products out of their village.

Investigators recover seven bullet shells for an M16 Armalite at the crime scene.
