Baguio chills at 10.6°C

Artemio Dumlao - The Philippine Star

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – This city’s temperature dipped to 10.6 degrees Celcius on Saturday morning, which slightly rose to 11 degrees Celsius yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

It was the lowest temperature recorded so far since the northeast monsoon or amihan, started over Luzon in October, PAGASA said.

Health experts warned residents, as well as visitors to wear thick clothing and take lots of Vitamin C to prevent themselves from getting colds.

Forecaster Danny Galati said the temperature is expected to go even lower until February.

Baguio City’s coldest temperature was recorded on Jan. 19, 1961 at 6.3 degrees Celsius.
