6 drug fiends nabbed in South Cotabato

KORONADAL City - Anti-narcotics agents arrested early Friday six large-scale drug traffickers in Santo Niño, South Cotabato.

Chief Inspector Joel Fuerte, chief of the Sto. Niño municipal police, said the suspects were cornered in their lair in Barangay Ambalgan before dawn Friday.

Fuerte identified those arrested as Musid Alamada, Mupac Bacat, Tonga Saniban, Jonathan Anopre, Melvin Baladjay and John Demetillo.

Fuerte said the operation, which resulted to the arrest of the six suspects, was assisted by barangay officials who helped locate their whereabouts.

The group was led by Alamada, tagged as a major supplier of Shabu to contacts in Santo Niño and neighboring towns in South Cotabato.

“This group is a big-time gang. We thank the local officials and barangay folks who helped us carry out their arrest,” Fuerte said.

Fuerte said they found P400,000 worth of Shabu in the hideout of the six men.

He said they will use the drugs as evidence in the filing of corresponding criminal cases against the suspects on Monday.
