Man nabbed for raping stepdaughters

LAGUNA, Philippines – A 37-year-old man accused of raping his two stepdaughters, aged 15 and 19, was arrested in Nagcarlan town yesterday.

Ariel Manjares, 37, was nabbed at his house at 5:30 a.m., according to Senior Inspector Roselle Orate, Laguna public information officer.

Orate said one of the victims reported the incident to the Women and Children’s desk and filed a complaint against her stepfather.

She said one of the girls claimed their stepfather raped her twice in 2011 while her sister was raped in 2012.

The victim told police that at around 4 a.m. yesterday, her stepfather entered her room and attempted to rape her again.
