5 of 16 QC inmates recaptured

MANILA, Philippines - Police have taken into custody five of the 16 inmates who bolted from the Cubao police station detention cell in Quezon City Wednesday before dawn. 
 
The Quezon City Police District said that  tracker teams managed to collar the two detainees - Robert Lacaba and Benedicto Guinto -  within the city a few hours after they escaped the police station. 
 
Policemen also recaptured the two other detainees - Rigor Alejandria, 30; and Thomas Evan Labutong - Thursday shortly after noon in separate operations.
 
The fifth escaped inmate, John Patrick Dionido, surrendered to authorities. 
 
To date, lawmen are still tracking down 11 more escapees from the Police Station 7 (PS-7) detention cell.
 
Quezon City Police District director Joel Pagdilao earlier relieved PS-7 commander Police Superintendent Wilson Delos Santos for the incident.
