2 dead, 5 hurt in Benguet, Isabela road mishaps
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Two persons died and five others were injured in two separate road accidents in Benguet and Isabela yesterday and on Tuesday.
Truck helper Oliver Sagsago was declared dead on arrival at the Benguet General Hospital when their truck plunged into a 300-meter ravine along the highway in Barangay Catubo in Atok town on Tuesday.
Driver Terrence Banwagen and helpers Willy Banwagen, Jessie Elesiz Quiangao, Ricky Mike Balbueva and Jay-ar Yubos remain confined at the same hospital, said Atok police chief Senior Inspector Cesar Malong.
Malong told The STAR the truck fell into the ravine when the brake malfunctioned along a downhill curve.
In Echague, Isabela, Michael Dasig, 39, was killed when his motorcycle rammed a pile of gravel by the roadside in Barangay San Fabian yesterday.
The victim,who was allegedly drunk, was on his way home from a party in Alicia town.
