DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines – The city government launched island tours to coastal barangays here on Saturday in time for the city’s fiesta celebration.

Sharon Maramba, the city’s tourism development coordinator, said tourists would be briefed on how bangus are processed and sold.

Visitors and guests would be ferried on three specially designed boats to Dagupan’s island barangays.

They would also pass through Sitio Tocok in Barangay Lucao for a closer look at the city’s designated oyster zones.

The customized boats have a floor area of 40 square meters and can each accommodate 25 persons.

Maramba told The STAR that the boats carry individual motifs and are named Philippines, China, and the United States of America.

A temporary docking area was set up at the Star Plaza Hotel parking area.

She said trained tour guides and singers would be part of the package tour, which lasts a minimum of 45 minutes.
