Makati fire razes 5 houses

MANILA, Philippines — Fire broke out in a residential area in Makati City on Thursday, Christmas Day, destroying five houses, reports said.

No one was reported hurt during the blaze.

Initial report said the blaze started at the house of a certain Gloria Calimag on Balagtas Street, Barangay West Rembo, Makati around 2:25 a.m. 

The flames quickly spread to adjacent houses, which were mostly made of light materials.

Firefighters managed to put out the blaze around 3 a.m.

Arson investigators are still looking into the cause and extent of damage of the fire.
