Quake jolts parts of Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines - A 4.6 magnitude quake shook some parts of Mindanao, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Wednesday. 

The Phivolcs said the epicenter of the  tremblor, which happened around 2:36 p.m., was located one kilometer southeast of Lugait, Misamis Oriental. 

The quake was 18 kilometers deep and tectonic in origin.

Intensity 3 was felt in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte and Cagayan de Oro City while Intensity II jolted Malasag, Cagayan de Oro; Tagoloan and Salvador, Misamis Oriental, the Phivolcs said. 

The Phivolcs recorded no damage nor aftershocks triggered by the earthquake.
