Quake jolts N. Luzon
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rocked parts of Northern Luzon yesterday, but no damage or injury was reported, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor occurred at 4:27 a.m., with its epicenter located some 27 kilometers southwest of Calayan in Cagayan.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Claveria, Cagayan; Intensity 3 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, and Intensity 2 in Buguey, Cagayan.
Phivolcs said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, was expected to generate aftershocks.
