9 injured in Cavite smashup

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Nine persons, including two children and a baby, were wounded in a collision involving three vehicles in Mendez, Cavite Saturday afternoon.

The victims were rushed to the Ospital ng Tagaytay for treatment. They were identified as Angel Erni, 59; Juanito delos Santos, 56; Anselmo Nepales, 54; Jemard Tristan Canava, 28; Robert Bruce Perido 23; Maycee Perido, 23; Jessa Mae Cubio, 11; Yowhan Martney Perido, 2, and four-month-old Yownah Maxene Perido.

Traffic investigator Police Officer 3 Ericson Amazona said Erwin Ferma, 50, driver of a Toyota Corolla (TYS-559), was arrested after the accident that occurred along Alfonso Highway in Barangay Panungyan at around 5 p.m.

Amazona said Ferma lost control of the wheel and hit a tricycle and a barangay patrol vehicle, each with four passengers on board. He said Ferma was drunk and was driving with an expired license.
