2 suspects in killing of Pangasinan lawyer caught

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union, Philippines – Two suspects in the killing of Pangasinan lawyer Cristobal Fernandez last August were arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in San Jacinto, Pangasinan yesterday. 

Senior Superintendent Francisco Esguerra, CIDG regional director, said Anthony Soncuan, 42, and Carlos Castillo Jr., 30, both residents of San Jacinto, were arrested based on the warrants issued by Judge Renato Pinlac of Regional Trial Court Branch 57 in San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Fernandez was gunned down while on his way to a court hearing in San Fabian, Pangasinan.
