MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents arrested an elderly man after he yielded P2 million worth illegal drugs during a raid on his house in Albay, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.

PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Romeo Nosares Sr., 61, a driver and resident of Basud, Barangay San Rafael, Guinobatan, Albay.

Reports said that PDEA operatives implemented a search warrant issued by Judge Alben Casimiro Rabe of Regional Trial Court  Branch 15, Tabaco City, Albay that led to the arrest of Nosares inside his house in Barangay San Rafael last November 15 around 2:30 a.m.

Operatives seized from Nosares approximately 400 grams of methampetamine hydrochloride contained inside two plastic sachets.

Also confiscated from Nosares’s possession were a notebook and 13 pages of writing paper containing a list of suspected illegal drug transactions.

Nosares, now  under the custody of the PDEA Region Office 5, will be charged with violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
