2 corpses found in Maguindanao

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – The bodies of two men, believed to be victims of summary execution, were found at the boundary of President Quirino town in Sultan Kudarat and Paglat in Maguindanao over the weekend.

The corpses were discovered by security guards of a palm oil farm near Barangay Katiku in President Quirino at past 7 a.m. Saturday, said village chief Sancho Salamanca.

Salamanca said several bullet shells were recovered near the bodies. He said the guards heard gunshots before the bodies were found in the area.

Senior Inspector Gary Flor Marfil, chief of the President Quirino police, said the case is under the jurisdiction of the Paglat police.
