Vendor snatched in Cagayan, found dead in Isabela

Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A balut vendor, who was reportedly snatched by a group of unidentified men here last Friday, was found dead with a bullet wound in the head in Isabela province yesterday.

The body of Esteban Garcia, of Barangay Ugac in this city, was identified by his mother Ines at a morgue in Sta. Maria town, Isabela.

Senior Inspector Jeffrey Raposas, chief of the Sta. Maria police, said Garcia was last seen at 2 a.m. last Friday peddling balut in Barangay Pengue.

Raposas said Garcia’s mother told investigators that her son figured in a quarrel with a relative. He said they were looking into that angle.
