Cop killed in Rizal traffic accident

MANILA, Philippines - A policeman was killed Thursday when he was run over by a trailer truck after he lost control of his motorcycle in Rodriguez, Rizal.

SPO1 Philip Mapalo, of the Makati City police, died at the scene.

Responding policemen arrested the truck driver, Mauricio Lising, a resident of  385 San Jose Norte, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

In his report to Rizal police chief Senior Superintendent Bernabe Balba, PO3 Conrado Cabigao said Mapalo was on his way home at about 7 p.m. when the accident occurred.

Cabigao said Mapalo’s motorcycle skidded upon reaching E. Rodriguez Highway in Barangay San Jose.
