Village chief’s pa hurt in ambush

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – A father of a detained village chairman was wounded in an attack in San Pablo, Isabela last Monday.

Roque Gammaru, father of Barangay Dalena chairman Bricsio Gammaru, was driving a motorcycle in Barangay Poblacion when he was allegedly shot by Domingo Lorenza, who was on another motorcycle, said Senior Inspector Alford Accad, San Pablo police chief.

A manhunt has been launched for the suspect.

The victim was taken to the Cagayan Valley Regional Medical Center here for treatment.

The younger Gammaru is detained without bail for murder and frustrated murder charges arising from an alleged land dispute.
