Man tries to jump off MRT roof in QC - report

MANILA, Philippines - A man tried to jump from the roof of the Metro Rail Transit station in Quezon City, causing heavy southbound traffic along the of EDSA on Wednesday.

Bystanders saw the man, only identified as Carlo, on the roof of the MRT-Kamuning station southbound around 5 a.m., reports said.

Members of Bureau of Fire Protection who rushed to the area readily placed an airbag to catch the man.

Though the operations of railway system were not disrupted, traffic along EDSA southbound was heavy due to the airbag and the rescue team which occupied three lanes, reports added.

Rescuers managed to convince the man, who allegedly had a problem with his wife, to come down from the roof around 6:30 a.m.

Authorities are still mulling if they will press charges against the man.
