7 women rescued from Camarines bar

CAMARINES NORTE , Philippines – Two managers of an entertainment bar were arrested in a raid that also resulted in the rescue of seven women in Daet, Camarines Norte, police reported over the weekend.

Dexter Alano, 23, and Clarissa Vega, 24, both of D’ Boys KTV Bar in Barangay Lag-on, are facing human trafficking charges, said Chief Inspector Calvin Cuyag, chief of the provincial police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

The raid was carried out last Thursday by personnel from the CIDG, the provincial social welfare office, the municipal health unit and the local police.

Social worker Normanoel Eboña said the seven women were from the cities of Iriga, General Santos, Lucena and Tagum and the provinces of Cavite and Quezon.
